Can The Right Attitude Get You to Degen Island?
Greetings anons,
I wanted to start my series on the significance of having the right attitude regardless of your endeavors.
Because our decisions are impacted by what we know, what we know has a tremendous impact on our lives.
Invariably, what we know and how we feel influence us.
Unlike philosophy, which is concerned with the intellectual side of life (knowledge and thought processes), attitude is concerned with how our emotions impact our lives. What we've discovered has influenced our philosophy. Our attitude is influenced by how we feel about what we've learned.
It's simple to assume that those with a higher IQ will fare better relative to others who are less gifted in terms of achievement.
Yet, according to psychologist Carol Dweck, people have either a fixed or a development mindset.
What does that mean?
People with a fixed mindset feel they are stuck in their ways because they are obsessed with who they are and cannot or do not believe they can change. The issue of a fixed mindset may arise when you experience a scenario where you are expected to handle something that feels beyond your capabilities.
On the other hand, people who have a growth mentality think that if they work hard enough, they will progress.
Who becomes more successful?
Well “growth mindsets” outperform those with fixed mindsets, even if they have a lower IQ since they welcome difficulties and see them as chances to learn something new.
Why is this crucial for reaching new heights of success?
I've learned that having a positive attitude is considerably more important than having a high degree of skill in many circumstances. The ability to have a positive attitude is essential for having a happy life.
As a result, we must reassess our beliefs and sentiments about our place in the world, as well as our chances of accomplishing our goals, frequently. To create a brighter future, it’s vital to address our current perceptions.
Undoubtedly, an optimistic outlook is a valuable commodity that is difficult to come by.
People with positive attitudes are an uncommon species compared to those with adequate talent and experience.
In fact, the two are generally linked negatively with one another.
The most experienced chef is unlikely to be the one with the most incredible attitude. If you don’t believe me, walk inside a restaurant kitchen and observe. You might also watch “Hell’s Kitchen.”
Consider a class of students acquiring a new skill: Do you think everyone who stayed and finished the class has associated talent? Do you think they'll all have a positive attitude in the end? Once again, the answer is most likely no.
As mentioned earlier, people with good attitudes are SCARCE.
Because scarce resources are more valuable than non-rare resources, having a good attitude may result in higher earnings and opportunities!
You don’t have to feel vulnerable anymore: You can conquer any skill and overcome any obstacle with the right attitude
At some time in our lives, we've all felt helpless. The ultimate test was how we responded to it. If we choose to learn from it and go on, we are bound by the results. To be successful, you must be willing to fail frequently and then BOUNCE BACK.
People who consider failure as part of their development process do not feel helpless.
According to research, those who are frightened of failure are more inclined to procrastinate. Those that have a better attitude about failure, on the other hand, are more eager to take on new activities despite their concerns about the future.
There are countless examples of people who have achieved remarkable achievements despite severe adversity, including the following:
Fred Astaire: MGM's testing director stated of Astaire's first screen test, "He can't act." I'm not a particularly excellent vocalist. He has a few strands of hair on the sides of his head. It doesn't appeal to me at all. I've been known to do a little dancing." Although Astaire became a well-known actor, singer, and dancer, he kept the note in his Beverly Hills home as a reminder of his humble beginnings.
Abraham Lincoln: Considered one of the greatest Presidents’ in U.S. history, Lincoln's life was far from straightforward. If you're unfamiliar with military ranks, a private is the lowest rank one may achieve while serving their nation. Lincoln, on the other hand, did not stop there. He launched many failed enterprises, declared bankruptcy twice, and lost all 26 of his political races.
Chris Pratt had nowhere to go when he was homeless: When Chris Pratt was 19, he was homeless living in a van on the Hawaiian island of Maui. When Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was filmed in Hawaii 20 years later, the actor was paid a whopping $10 million. This exemplifies his perseverance: He never gave up even though it took him two decades. He even worked as a server and had to eat the leftovers from other people's dinners or go hungry. His relentless attitude kept him going.
Sylvester Stallone was forced to sell his dog to buy food: Sylvester Stallone became so impoverished that he was forced to sell his pet dog for $40 to purchase food. “Rocky's” script, which was nominated for two Academy Awards, was finally sold to another writer. After completing his objective, he repurchased his beloved dog and added, "The owner knew I was desperate, so he charged me $15,000," which is a fantastic way to end the story. Stallone is noted as saying, “He was more than worth the money I spent for him.”
Just do it!
The first step toward a brighter tomorrow is to begin right now. The present moment gives us the chance to put our previous experiences to good use. Regardless of financial situation, everyone has the same amount of time to embark on fresh opportunities. You’re here now, how will you spend your time?
Further, our attitude has a significant impact on how productive we are on any given day. We can make today a new beginning if we approach it with the correct mindset. The most significant opportunity for today is to begin the transformative process. In other words, choose a fresh perspective on yourself, your life objectives, and how you intend to attain them.
It all comes down to mindset.
You can learn new skills anytime: Attitude beats IQ
You don’t need to have complete technical proficiency in any field to be successful. When you have a positive mindset, you will induce better results. Having knowledge and abilities does not guarantee you can generate high-quality work.
Many intelligent and seasoned experts are unable to perform at the top level due to their mindset.
I don’t have to remind you of all the broke “geniuses.”
Yet, when you're FIRED UP and interested in your work, it's much easier to perform a fantastic job than when you're not.
Take control of your current situation
Imagine you are the captain of your ship. Where do you want to go? Developing a growth mindset isn't about being braver than the rest of us; it's about understanding that fear and worry are crippling feelings that can only be conquered by action.
A development mindset is essential because it gives you power, and empowered individuals understand that there is no right time to act. So, what's the point of waiting for one?
When you take action, your fear of failure is turned into CONCENTRATED, positive energy.
Be energized
People who feel empowered are more inclined to pursue their objectives with passion. Someone will always be better than you, but a lack of natural skill may be compensated for by ENTHUSIASM.
How can you induce passion?
Make a list of 10-20 of your passions, reasons for living, etc. Then prioritize five of them. Aside from these, nothing else matters.
In conclusion
Just as your body can heal itself, so can your mind create growth. However, you must believe you deserve wealth. To start, adopt a more optimistic outlook.
We all have the mental, spiritual, intellectual, and creative capabilities to do everything we deem worthy of our absolute focus.
Anyone can do this!
Repeat after me: “I DESERVE wealth! I’m GONNA MAKE IT!”
Raising our consciousness and devoting more time refining who we are currently will take care of the rest.
What's more, your attitude is the one thing you can change right now.
That's because if we indeed recognized who we are—our unique strengths—we'd never question our capacity to design a better future and make it to DEGEN island in style.
Until next time anons,
Cheers to you!
