Mid-Year Reset: What to Keep, Cut, and Double Down on in Q3

It is Monday again; the soft kind, the kind that still smells like sunscreen and overripe peaches, when most people are recovering from holiday fizz or waiting for the weight of routine to sink back in. Yet, this Monday is different. It is the first Monday of the second half of the year. And if you run an e-commerce store, or have even just begun sketching one out on the edges of your life, this is your call to reflect, refine, and ready yourself for the season that always moves faster than the one before.

There’s something dignified in a reset; not a frantic rebrand, not a loud pivot, just a quiet reckoning. You do not need to know how Q4 will go; you only need to know yourself now, and how you work, and how you want to sell.

Why a Reset Matters

We don’t operate in a vacuum. The algorithms shift, the ad costs rise, and buyer sentiment rolls like waves. Still, the reason to pause now has less to do with external trends and more to do with the very human tendency to drift. If you’ve ever found yourself updating your site without knowing why, or pushing product for a dopamine hit instead of a long play, you know what I mean.

This reset is about looking straight at what’s working, what’s draining you, and what you can lean into before autumn storms in.

The Personal Audit

You don’t need a therapist to do this. You need paper; time; the willingness to be honest. Here’s a simple structure that will help. I’ve written it out in the form of a Notion template, but it works in any medium, Notion, paper, even your phone notes.
