Ready to Take Your E-Commerce Site to the Next Level?
Here's How You Can Get Your Site Ready for Memorial Day
Memorial Day has always been associated with outdoor fun and BBQing. More important than the "grilling holiday,” it is a celebration of remembering the fallen heroes who died while serving in the US military. It is observed on the last Monday of May. In terms of e-commerce, customers typically have big plans for Monday.
What are they doing?
Many are starting their vacations or taking off work for the holiday weekend. So, there’s no better time than right now to update your e-commerce site to include a Memorial Day sale.
Here's how to do it.
Create a Memorial Day category
Memorial Day is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. To capitalize on this, prepare now.
How?
Well, start by adding a Memorial Day category or two that lists all items on sale during this time of year.
If your store doesn't have any currently discounted offerings, consider putting some up for sale around Memorial Day and then promoting them in social media posts leading up to the big day.
You can also add discount codes for specific products if you want people who discover them after Memorial Day ends (and before it begins again). Further, make sure these codes are easy for customers to find, so they don't miss out!
Access site metrics and data analytics
Google Analytics offers a comprehensive suite of tools that can help you gauge the performance of your e-commerce site. Hence, you can view how many people visit your website, where they come from, and what they do once they’re browsing your online shop.
Use the Google Search Console and Amazon Seller Central to monitor keywords and search queries that bring traffic to your site, as well as the conversion rates of your visitors.
For Shopify users, there’s Shopify Analytics (which tracks visits/conversions) and WooCommerce Analytics (which tracks visits/conversions).
